For my residency, I worked with third and fourth grade students at Bennett Elementary School in SW Detroit. Together, we permanently installed a large-scale ceramic tile piece in the hallway by the auditorium, the meeting ground for students and families. The installation, inspired by the school's community garden, brings creativity into the space and provided an opportunity for students to actively engage in their school space.

This project inspired me to be resourceful, stay organized and make a lasting connection with the kids.
